Each Child is Unique | Batavia, NY Family Photographer

Balonek Family

There's always one. You know.....the sibling that has their own agenda. I'm sure he's plotting his next move in this photo. I went with it, though, because this is the stage he's at in his life right now. In my experience with this family, baby J has always been true to himself. He will do what he wants, when he wants. I have never been able to convince him that "sneezing", throwing grass on my head, or running around like a lunatic was ever funny. I quite like that, because he challenges me more than most children I've worked with. It forces me to really learn about the individual personalities of each child. It's important to remember that even though siblings have the same upbringing, they're still their own little entities, and what works for one may not work for the other.

I want families to know that if your child(ren) is not performing as you expected, THAT'S OKAY! I'm willing to adapt. I'm a 33.....I mean, 29 year old grown adult and I hate being photographed. I'm not sure why, but I just know I don't like it. Now imagine being a small child in this situation. I'm like the Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent.....who lives in another state that they only see maybe once or twice a year. There's a level of trust that needs to be built before they are willing to participate in any silly games I have in mind for them.

As a Batavia, NY family photographer, babies and children are my 1st priority. I'm really working for them. Hahahaha!
